Baba 40 Number 1

On July 26, 2013 s/v Sonrisa officially joined our family. Sonrisa is a Bob Perry designed Baba 40 cruising sailboat, hull number one, from the Tashing boat yard in Taiwan. Originally hailing by the name Loncia, she spent much of her early life in the Pacific Northwest and was the boat featured in the original product brochures. She is a veteran cruiser having sailed waters ranging from British Columbia to Mexico and as far a Hawaii. We found her in Long Beach California, having been reluctantly put up for sale after the previous owner returned from cruising Mexico.

At the age of 34, she’s as stout as ever and is a comfortable, capable cruiser with beautiful lines inside and out.

She now hails from Westpoint Harbor in Redwood City as we prepare her and ourselves for the next adventure.
